You must be kidding!

As the new hot topic seems to be the wonderful world of grades and their many mysteries ,i wanna hear from you all ! The question is : What(in your humble opinion)is the most over/under-graded problem in Kjuge? This is your big chance to complain .Dont waste it. I want at least twenty comments.I would like to start the ball rollin with my suggestion that "Nasa" currently registered as "L" (you must be kidding!)is clearly under-graded.It surely must merit at least a grade of "5".A real classic of the forest and certainly one of my favourites. Most of you i presume have done it ,so i want to hear how you rate the problem and grade as well as your own suggestions of other problems with grade issues.

Ah the rainy weekend thread…Ok I’ll bite…

Why do we need grades? They seem to create nothing but perpetual Yak about #’s. There seems to be this endless discussion whether it is or isn’t this or that. What it really boils down to for me… It’s you and the problem, end of. If you’re silly enough to follow a # ( especially mine) you’ll pay the price…Sandbagged

“And Nasa is a nice ‘L’ problem”

Is Flodhasten not in at 7b? I have an old t-shirt you can have if you think you deserve it ;)

In my opinion, there are two grades: Success and Failure and one is sweeter than the other, depending how you look at it. It's called objectivity, all the rest is just Bullshit from people who don't understand what climbing is...

You don't agree... Just why do you climb and what are you trying to measure with your grades?

Hope you're not talkin directly to me,Punk! The whole idea of this exercise was to get as many people as possible bitchin about problems that they think are soft or hard for the grade. From this we should in fact learn the truth. The truth being that grades are as you say so accurately "Bullshit".They can only ever be a guide-line.Not every-one will have the same experience on a problem.Any climber that only chases the grade with never............ohhhh %&¤#!!! why do i bother? you know what i mean ,and if you don't.....well i am not talkin to you anyway. ;)lol!

Irish, of course my statement is general and not directed at you. I think it's create that you're trying to create a forum and discussion ;)

lol! "Two grades, success and failure." Sounds like something Boone Speed would say.Ha ha! I really think this new blogg is a great idea and seems to be going well so far.I hope it continues. My contributions as not very often written in a serious tone and should not be interpreted so.Grades are bullshit but used in the right way they can be usefull bullshit. They can give an idea of how we improve which in turn adds to our motivation and over-all enjoyment of our passion.Knowing the general grade of a problem can also be usefull, especially for a beginner or intermediates.Grades should become less important as the standard of our climbing increases. If you are so good and climb at such a high standard (like that Chris Sharma dude.) then grades loose all meaning. Then it becomes simple."Success and failure".But, for the rest of us sometimes it is nice to know we are getting better.

Irish, if you want to foster a discussion and create a community it might be an idea to be open and accepting to ideas, especially when you ask for them... I'll take a pass on this blog, see ya round, man!

Hook, line and sinker, it's been like 6 hours and I'm already back... While Irish might want to try and compare me to Sharma, and there are some similarities, I think it's going bit far... See you guys at Easter!

p.s. We're getting close to 20 ;-)
