Good Vibrations!

The day started with unexpected sunshine lighting up the edges around the blinds on my bedroom window. Thats what i call "Mornin Glory" ;)

I got up quickly, made some coffe and apologised to Emma, She had woken shortly before me and had already realised that yet again i was going to walk out the door and not come back till dark. It happens like that alot in our house when the sun shines bright, temps are low and the road outside my house is dry, She is used to it.

I arrived early in Kjuge, I had arranged to meet Ivar(the rookie) . The weather was fantastic and there was plenty of faces in the woods. Malin, Alex and Andre (The usual suspects) represented Helsingborg while Dal-Johan and the boys from G'burg flew the flag of "Da west coast! ) .

I started the day with an optimistic warm-up on Imperator ( grade 7-ish) . All went to plan as i stuck the crux move on attempt #5 or #6. The top out took a bit of care as i am still a bit paranoid of falling badly on my damaged ankle. We then headed down to Linds where Ivar got to work, making progress but not managing a top-out. We where then approached by what we both thought was a stranger. We were wrong. It turned out that the approaching figure was none other than "Danish Jack" who of coarse is not a stranger, he was more of a friend we had just never met before. Jack claimed to be a plastic-climber but soon proved that he could do real climbing also ;) He stood quietly watching for a bit and then with a determined look in his eyes he glided up Linds effortlessly proving wrong the myth that the danish cant climb (opps, that was naughty!) ;) Ivar and Jack then both made short work of "Problemett" (classic 6a) . "Danish Jack" stayed with us the whole day, impressing us with vulgar displays of both power and nerve as he took on a challenge to do battle with a monster called "Hyde"(5+) . It's another one of those classic John Burgess creations that might be 5+ on paper but shouldn't really be attempted unless you climb 6a+ and like looking down and seeing your crashpad reduced to the size of a stamp( ha ha !) . Jack cruised it while Ivar narrowly missed the send which resulted in a spectacular display of accelerated downward movement (falling). He landed laughing everytime . I was starting to wonder if maybe he was falling off on purpose cause he liked the air-time so much. Skydiving could be the way forward for him if the whole climbing thing doesn't work out ;)

The west-coast lads took up camp around the Flagpole stunning sunday walkers and me with their slack-lining skills. It was like easter came early,if only by a week. I have a feeling that this easter is going to be the best ever in Kjuge . I'm so glad i'm not going to that place outside Paris, i cant even remember the name, but am sure you will all have to sit in the rain and drink cheap wine for a whole week........... oops, that sounds quite good actually! ;) I'm not bitter .I'm just jealous . I'm sure alot more was going on in the woods today.... Let us know what you got up to!

Shine on, and have a great Easter where-ever you all may be!
