......and so it begins.

The week-end at Kjuge was great. The weather was on our side (which was nice)and the climbers began to arrive, hungry for some action. I managed to be there both days which was good, as i just got shut down by all most everything harder than 6c +. I arrived with big ideas of domination and mental images of flowing over the rock effortlessly on small vicious crimps with a smile on my face. the reality was sadly FAR from that of what my mind had fabricated . A bit too cocky, quite simply.After such a long break form bouldering (roughly five months) I found it hard to recruit that extra .........spark you need when bouldering as opposed to trad. The idea that you can and often should over grip the holds and crush it for 5 metres. No need to be gentle to the rock or be economical with your power. Basically , i just couldn't pull hard enough.

Thankfully though Sunday offered bigger and brighter things, after alot of reflection over my shite start the previous day.

The best thing about the week-end was seeing all the old faces and also the new faces. It really felt like the start of something good. Malmö and Helsingborg and K'stad were well represented as well as many others. The "Great Danes" were out in force as always. This mix can be expected and is nothing out of the ordinary. But was unusual was the visitors from Finland , Germany and Iceland. I can safely say that i've never ever met a climber from iceland before.

The mighty Harold Bohlin was also present, and without doubht flowing acoss the rock effortlessly with a smile ,as i had imagined for myself in my head .

Next week-end will be a toss up between Bohus trad and Kjuge. Two or three weeks ago it wouldn't have been a choice but now i feel really pysched for the boulders again. A tough choice but either way i kinda win.
